FAQ & Care Instructions

What are the benefits of polymer clay jewelry?
Polymer clay is an incredibly light and versatile material that allows for endless creativity. When baked, this type of clay is surprisingly durable and so lightweight that it rivals even your smallest stud earrings. If you love big, statement earrings but not the headaches that can come with wearing them all day, polymer clay jewelry is for you!

How do I best care for my clay pieces?
While clay jewelry is very durable, handling with care is always advised with jewelry. Avoid dropping or roughly packing your clay pieces. Do not let them sit in water or overly humid conditions as this can begin to affect the metal components of your pieces. Do not leave your pieces in direct sunlight for long periods of time as this can begin to discolor the clay.
-
Is polymer clay safe?
Polymer clay is a perfectly safe material for use in jewelry on and around the skin! Most major polymer clay manufacturers are certified non-toxic to both the makers and wearers of clay pieces. In fact, polymer clay is a common material for children's art projects! Of course, no clay whether baked or unbaked should be ingested.
-
Can I clean my clay?
Yes! Sometimes we can get makeup or other products on our jewelry and luckily with clay, it's very easy to clean. If you need to clean your pieces, gently wipe them clean with a water-damp cloth or tissue. Always avoid using commercial-strength cleaners or abrasive cloths as these items can irreparably damage the clay.

Are there extra care instructions for Floral Collection pieces?
Yes, Floral Collection pieces are made with special techniques to achieve their highly detailed, three-dimensional designs. These pieces should be handled with extra care, primarily avoiding applying pressure to the clay flowers. When traveling with these pieces, we recommend packing your jewelry in a travel jewelry case for extra safety.
